Foods We Need to Eat More of as We Get Older
As the
year's pass, our bodies begin to weaken and degenerate more rapidly
than they did when we were younger. This necessitates placing a greater
emphasis on the consumption of healthy food. As we age, we suffer from
nutritional deficiencies that reduce our quality of life and our health. A study
conducted at Tufts University in the United States showed that 20% of
the elderly people suffer from Atrophic gastritis that causes chronic
infections and damage to cells that produce acid in the stomach. Too
little acid in the stomach adversely affects its ability to absorb
important nutrients such as vitamin B12, calcium, iron, and magnesium,
which fortunately can be prevented if we know what our bodies need at
this stage of life.
