A New Cure for Alzheimer's?
The
future treatment of Alzheimer's disease looks promising thanks to this
new study. In a mouse model, researchers improved cognitive function by
reducing the plaques that kill neurons in Alzheimer's patients.
According to the study, researchers were able to reverse the formation
of amyloid plaques, which gradually kill neurons in patients with
Alzheimer's disease in the brains of mice. This essentially reversed the
condition. In addition, aside from the reduction of plaques that impair
communication between brain cells, the mice also experienced cognitive
improvement.
