Rice is a great alternative to pasta and is a versatile ingredient too. It's mostly known for its high carbohydrate content and, for that reason, may not be seen as such a healthy food. It's therefore always advisable to select unrefined, whole meal produce, as this form of rice is high in fibre. One other benefit to rice lies in how it is cooked. In fact, studies show that when cooked properly, you can cut the amount of calories of rice in half.
